Final Week

Thank you for participating in the 2021 Basketball League! The last weekend of play is this Sunday, 6/20 with makeup games for those affected by rain-outs scheduled for 6/27.

Medals & Certificates

We will be distributing medals to all 1st and 2nd place Youth League and High School teams. Some divisions are very competitive and 1st or 2nd place may depend on an outcome later in the day. If you division falls into this category, we will contact 1st and 2nd place teams by Wednesday, June 23rd.  If your division has make up games due to the rain out, then we will notify winning teams by Monday June 28th.  All Rookie League players will receive a certificate at this weekends games.

Please make sure to verify your schedule for this weekend on our website.

Baselines clear: Please make sure to keep all bags, basketballs and water clear of the baseline. We do not want to create tripping hazards for players or referees.

Las Lomas Community Park
We suggest parking in the Las Lomas parking lot. The outdoor basketball courts are next to the parking lot.

Week 6 Updates

As a reminder, the schedule has been posted on our website – please make sure to check it every week.

Playoffs: There are no playoffs this season as League play ends on June 20th. Those that had their games rained out will conclude play on June 27th.

Masks: As a reminder, all coaches are required to wear a mask at all times during the game. Players are also encouraged to wear a mask when not participating. Spectators are encouraged to wear a mask as well unless they are physically distanced far apart.

Week 5 Updates

We are happy to note that forecast this weekend is sunny! Teams that had their games cancelled due to rain are scheduled to have a makeup game on June 27th which can be seen on the schedule. As a reminder, the schedule has been posted on our website – please make sure to check it every week.

Week 3 Updates

We hope everyone enjoyed their first week of games! As a reminder, the schedule has been posted on our website – please make sure to check it every week.

Sunday, May 9th: There are no games on May 9th (Mother’s Day)

Team Benches: Although there are no benches for teams, players should still be on the sidelines with their coach. Players are not allowed to crowd the baseline.

Jerseys: Starting this week all players must wear their SoCal Elite Jersey. Any players without their jersey will result in a Technical Foul.

Face Coverings: As a reminder, all coaches must wear a mask at all times during the game. Players are also highly encouraged to wear a mask when not participating. Spectators are highly encouraged to wear a mask as well unless they are far apart.

Chairs: Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and the outdoor nature of this league, there won’t be any chairs or benches for spectators this season, so please bring your own.

Post-Game Meetings: Coaches and parents should move your team off the court after your game to conduct post-game meetings. We would like to keep the courts as open as possible.

Game Times: While waiting to take the court for your game, please do not crowd the sidelines/baselines and wait away from the court. Let the previous game’s teams move off the court before warming up.

Week 2 – Start of Games

This week is the start of League play and games!

We’re reaching out to address a couple of points for this weekend:

  • Chairs: Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and the outdoor nature of this league, there won’t be any chairs or benches for spectators this season, so please bring your own.
  • Post-Game Meetings: Coaches and parents should move your team off the court after your game to conduct post-game meetings. We would like to keep the courts as open as possible.

Week 1 – Team Rosters & Team Schedules

We are excited to start the 2021 Basketball League this Sunday, April 18th!

COVID-19 Health & Safety Protocols: Per city and state guidelines, parents, staff and coaches must wear a mask when on-site. Players do not have to wear a mask during the game though they can if they would like to and are encouraged to wear one when not participating.

Youth Divisions

Team Formation: Drafts concluded on Thursday and all coaches should be reaching out to you in the next 24 hours. If you do not hear from your coach by Saturday at 4:00 PM, please email us at [email protected]. We will be able to respond quicker if you include the first and last name of your child and grade in the subject line.

Simply select your child’s division and type his or her name into the Search field.

Team Schedules: Week 1 is now live! You can view it on our website here: https://socalelite.org/leagues/spring/schedules/#view

As of now, you can only see schedules for Week 1. This week will actually be a team practice and uniform pickup and will not count as a game. Each team will have a half court for 45 minutes. The official start of league games will be the following week on April 25th. These games will take place at the same time, place and location.

Player Evaluations (Youth Divisions)

UPDATE: Players should wear athletic attire to evaluations. Parents will not be allowed onto the courts. Players and all coaches (Head Coach/Co-Coach) will need to check in at the table and will be allowed inside. There will not be any chairs or much shade on the courts. Parents, please wait in the parking lot or outside around the courts to watch the evaluations. Please do not bring a basketball for your child.

Coaches please take notes on the players in your division as there will be no video to review this year.

Evaluations: Youth Division (3rd–8th grade) only. Please do NOT bring a basketball and arrive 15 min early.
