Week 4 Update

This weekend’s games are now back at their normal locations. Teams that played at University HS are now back at Portola High School. As a reminder, players may wear clothes under their jerseys but wristbands must be clearly visible at all times. In the case of long sleeves, the wristband would need to be over the sleeve. Our staff uses the wristbands to identify who each player is guarding as well as to help control the game and give every player a better chance to score and contribute offensively.

Overall we saw improvement on following the indoor mask guidelines at most locations and we thank you for that.

As a reminder to coaches – if you are unable to make any of your games please communicate to your team as soon as possible and help coordinate a replacement.

Week 3 Update

We are excited to return to league play this weekend!

Teams playing at Portola HS have been moved to University HS this weekend. Please make sure to review the schedule to verify your game time and location: https://socalelite.org/leagues/winter/rookie/schedules/#rookie-schedules

We would also like to reiterate that our mask policy is still in effect. In accordance with the California Department of Public Health’s latest guidance for the use of masks, proper face coverings over mouth AND nose are required when indoors at any of our indoor game locations and must be worn by everyone at all times. The only exception to this rule is players when they are actively participating in game play (players are required to wear masks while on the bench).

These protocols have been communicated to all coaches – who are also required to wear masks properly at all times – and these protocols must be followed to ensure we continue receiving conditional use permits from the Irvine and Tustin Unified School Districts. If anyone does not comply they will be asked to leave the gym.

Please note that if these procedures are not followed correctly we may be forced to cancel or forfeit games accordingly.

Reminder: every player should bring his or her own inflated basketball each game day.

Week 2: New Covid-19 Guidance for the Use of Masks

With that being said, we’d like to reiterate that the start time on each week’s schedule denotes the prompt start time of practice. Please arrive before that time to make sure each session starts and finishes on time.

Reminder: every player should bring his or her own inflated basketball each game day.

Covid-19 Protocols

As an organization, our priority is the health and safety of all our players, coaches, families and staff. Our facility use permits require that we follow local health and safety guidelines.

As a reminder, all coaches and parents need to wear a mask while inside the gym – there are no exceptions. Players do not need a mask while on the court but must be wearing a mask while on the bench. If parents do not have a mask our staff may ask you to wait outside.

During play, if players (while on the bench) and/or coaches are not wearing a mask the referees will issue a warning requiring them to put a mask on. If the issue continues, referees may issue a technical foul.

As a reminder, any players who are not healthy should reach out to their coach and stay home.

We appreciate your understanding and attention to this as we prioritize the safety and health of all of our participants.
