2025 Spring League
Hello Parents,
We have rescheduled Week 2 of the 2025 Spring Volleyball and will be playing this Saturday, April 19th.
Date: Week 2, Saturday, April 19th
Location/Address: University High School, 4771 Campus Dr, Irvine, CA 92612
Divisions:
4th-6th: 12:00PM to 2:00PM
7th-9th: 2:00PM to 4:00PM
Please note each session is going to be played at an earlier time frame compared to Week 1. As a reminder, please have players where their black SoCal Elite Volleyball League shirt and court assignments will be posted on the wall when you enter the gym.
Hello Parents,
There will not be League Play this Saturday, April 12th. We finally received notice from the IUSD Facilities that Woodbridge will not be available either due to another color guard event hosted at that site. When looking into other high schools with at least three courts to host our volleyball league format, it was confirmed that there were no other sites available.
We will be discussing this internally to see when we will reschedule Week 2 and reevaluate the schedule for the remainder of the season. An email will be sent out next week with an update. Thank you again for your patience and understanding! Have an amazing weekend off!
Hello Parents,
As a reminder, this Saturday, April 5th will be the start to our 2025 Spring Volleyball League.
Date: Saturday, April 5th
Address: University High School, 4771 Campus Dr, Irvine, CA 92612
Divisions:
4th-6th: 1:30PM to 3:30PM
7th-9th: 3:30PM to 5:30PM
Team Rosters/Schedule: Teams have been built, https://socalelite.org/volleyball/teams/ (Search player’s name under appropriate division). If you are a parent who volunteered to coach, please make a note of which team you are assigned to. If your child did not attend Evaluations, they were placed on a team randomly. The schedule for each division will be found on the right hand side of the page. Please use the drop-down feature to view.
Communication/Updates: Please check your email weekly for any updates or potential location/schedule change. You can always refer to our updates page here, https://socalelite.org/volleyball/updates/#leagues
Check-In/Attendance: Players will be checked in by our staff during the duration of the league. Parents do not need to update players’ availability each Saturday. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.
League Scrimmages: Each week there will be a two-hour session for players to get an opportunity to practice and play scrimmages/games. Practices will be run by our volleyball coaching staff and assisted by our Parent Volunteer Coaches. Depending on the division’s volleyball ability, there might be modifications to the games to provide the best experience (serve from anywhere on the court, coach initiated ball, height of net, etc.). Records will not be kept. Please expect for practices to be longer at the beginning of the league (weeks 1-3) as we want to make sure players have a basic understanding of how to play the game based on the system that we teach. As the league goes on, more time will be designated to play. The full duration of Week 7 (last week) will be designated to play.
Throughout the season, all players will get an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of volleyball (passing, setting, hitting, and serving) and work on developing their motor skills. Our goal as a recreational league is to provide a welcoming and fun environment to facilitate the best learning experience for all of our players.
Please have your player wear their white SoCal Elite Volleyball t-shirt each week of the league*. Outside of the t-shirt, we encourage all of our players to wear comfortable athletic apparel (bottoms and shoes). Other optional apparel would be knee pads or forearm sleeves (No jeans, skirts, and sandals/slippers). You will not need to bring your own volleyball as we will be providing them.
Apparel/Ordered Items Pick-up: For players that have not yet received their SoCal Volleyball t-shirt/ordered items, please come by our office during our operating hours before the first week of play.
Address: 12 Mauchly Ste P Irvine 92618
Hours: 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Days: Tuesday through Friday
Simply ring the doorbell at the front door and a staff member will assist you. Please mention you are participating in the 2025 Spring Volleyball League. If our hours do not work for you please email us so we can arrange a different method for you to receive your apparel. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Hello Parents,
Thank you to those who attended Player Evaluations/Introduction to Skills this past Saturday! As a reminder, we will not be having any practices or matches this Saturday, March 29th. Week 1 of the Spring League will be the following Saturday, April 5th. Team Rosters and Schedule will be released and published by next Tuesday, March 25th at 12:00PM. Thank you in advance for your patience as we are still working with the Irvine district and city on finalizing our gym requests. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Have an amazing weekend!
Best Regards,
SoCal Elite Volleyball
Hi Parents,
This upcoming Saturday, we will be hosting our Player Evaluations/Intro to Skills for our 2025 Spring Volleyball League.
During Evaluations, our coaching staff will be introducing basic fundamentals in passing, setting, hitting, serving, and team systems. This gives our coaches an opportunity to observe each player’s volleyball ability and knowledge before teams are formed by Week 1 of practice/scrimmages. Teams will be formed by our coaches to provide a competitive and fun experience for all. Players will have a designated hour and a half time slot to get evaluated by our coaches based on grade level. Please make sure the grade and gender of your child is correct on TeamSnap.
Date: Saturday, March 22nd
Location: Irvine High School Practice Gym
Address: 4321 Walnut Ave, Irvine, CA 92604
Evaluations/Intro to Skills will be conducted by grade level:
4th-6th grade: 2:30PM to 4:00PM
7th-9th grade: 4:00PM to 5:30PM
Please plan to arrive 15 mins before your child’s start time as we need to get each player their “Evaluation ID Tag.” Dynamic warm-up will start promptly at each start time. Within the 1.5 hour evaluation, players will be introduced to foundations in passing, setting, hitting, serving, and team systems.
Throughout the season we will be sending out emails. You can find all of our most recent updates posted on our website under League: https://socalelite.org/volleyball/updates/#leagues. Following evaluations, we hope to publish our schedule and team rosters by the end of the following week.
Hello Parents,
Thank you for registering for our 2025 Spring Volleyball League! Here are some quick updates before our start date.
We will have Player Evaluations on Saturday, March 22nd, 2024.
Time and Location for Player Evaluations will be sent out next week.
Those who volunteered to be Evaluation Coordinators or Volunteer Coaches will be contacted separately on how you will be helping out during the league.
Following Evaluations, The League will run for 7 weeks from April 1st through May 31st on Saturdays. Please review our calendar of events, https://socalelite.org/volleyball/spring/#about. Each week players will get an opportunity to practice and play scrimmages/games. Practices will be run by our volleyball coaching staff and assisted by our Parent Volunteer Coaches.
League Scrimmages: After practice is over, it is immediately followed by teams playing scrimmages/games. Depending on the division’s volleyball ability, there might be modifications to the games to provide the best experience (serve from anywhere on the court, coach initiated ball, allow a bounce, height of net, more than three contacts, etc.). Records will not be kept. Please expect for practices to be longer at the beginning of the league (weeks 1-3) as we want to make sure players have a greater understanding of how to play the game. As the league progresses, more time will be designated to play. The full duration of Week 7 (last week) will be designated to play scrimmages/games.
Teams: Teams will be formed following Evaluations by our coaching staff to provide the best and competitive experience for all players. Teams can be Co-Ed and formed by dispersing talent as evenly as possible to ensure fairness – they are not limited by the number of boys or girls on each team. If there are enough players in your division, we will build an intermediate and beginner bracket. Divisions may be modified based on number of registrants.
Location: We are still waiting for all gym permits/approval from the City and District. We currently do not know the exact locations/gyms we will use for the upcoming 2025 Spring League. However, it looks like we will most likely be utilizing University High School starting at 1pm on Saturdays during this season. Other locations that we have used in the past are Northwood High School, Irvine High School and Portola High School.
Schedule: Our schedule for the whole season will be sent out after teams are formed. Practice/Game times will be dependent on the number of players in a division and gym availability. Please expect your practice/game time to be played within the time slot of 12:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturdays during the 7 week league. The youngest division plays first.
If you have any questions or concerns about any information explained above, please do not hesitate to contact us.
